The researcher collected quantitative data through a questionnaire.77 out of 109 distributed questionnaires were returned and filled correctly by production personnel in the metal recycling industry.This translated to 70% response rate.Semi-structured interviews were conducted for the purposes of gathering qualitative data.Quantitative data revealed that metal recyclers are facing challenges of reduction in processing speeds, reduction in operation profits, poor product quality and high risk of getting injured due to the use of manual production methods.
